Capitol City Speakers Bureau Betty Rollin is a contributing correspondent for NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, and has been a correspondent for NBC's Today. Rollin's special reports for Nightly News included a series on the Indians of Pine Ridge, South Dakota, which won both the duPont and Emmy awards.

Author of First You Cry, the landmark best-seller that broke the silence about breast cancer, Betty celebrated her 25th year of survival in the year 2000.

Betty, who gives what she calls "cheery cancer talks," is a speaker who brings intelligence, inspiration and humor to a subject that is on all women's minds. First, You Cry

In addition to writing First You Cry, which was re-published in the fall of 2000, Betty is the author of five other books, including another best-seller, Last Wish, about the life and death of her mother. Both books were made into television movies, and both books have been published in more than fifteen foreign countries.

Prior to her television career, Rollin was an associate feature editor and staff writer for Vogue magazine and later a senior editor for Look magazine. She has contributed articles to many national magazines including The New York Times where she was also a "Hers" columnist.
